American Military University students are active, working adults. Most are employed at law enforcement, intelligence gathering and first response agencies at all levels of government, besides those who serve in every branch and specialty within the military. Founded to provide relevant and affordable education to first responders and the military, AMU serves a variety of students seeking liberal arts and professional studies degrees. AMU places special emphasis on programs in homeland security, national security, intelligence, and emergency and disaster management. Everyone associated with the University shares a passion for providing curriculum, class delivery, and service uniquely designed to meet the needs of those who serve others in their communities.

Tuition costs:

$250 per credit hour for Associates and Bachelors degree courses.
$275 per credit hour for Masters degree courses.

Books are included with the tuition costs through a book grant program for bachelor degree students.

No SAT, ACT, GRE or GMAT is required.

AMU will accept up to 90 transferable credits into their undergraduate programs and up to 15 transferable credits into their graduate programs. Therefore, a bachelors degree might be obtained for as little as $7,425 and a masters degree might be obtained for as little as $5,775 (exclusive of graduate books).

AMU is a partner in education with the FBI National Academy and will award up to 15 credits toward a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Management or Public Administration to graduates of the National Academy Leadership Program. National Academy graduates may also be granted up to 90 credits toward a Bachelors Degree that would include a combination of education programs in addition to National Academy programs.
